UALR brings in basketball player from FAMU

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has signed a guard from Florida A&M.

Jermaine Ruttley averaged 17.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Rattlers and led the team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals. UALR said several other schools had expressed an interest in Ruttley, including Alabama, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Oklahoma State, Purdue and Tennessee.

Ruttley played two seasons at Kaskaskia College and played high school ball at North Hardin High School in Elizabethtown, Ky.

UALR announced the signing Monday.
