Tamica Solomon was crossing the street on East Hillsborough Avenue before 9 p.m. last Wednesday night when she was struck be a vehicle. She died at the scene according to Tampa police.
Friends of the Tampa native say Solomon, 33, touched the lives of many in the Bay area.
“A good friend with a pretty smile, Niko offered to cook for anyone who needed a hot meal,” said Olicia Johnson, 26.
Some members of the community commemorated the Tampa mother by placing stuffed animals and candles where the accident occurred. Her mother, Theresa Doby was grateful for the outpouring of love and said thank you via Facebook.

The driver of the vehicle reportedly stopped and cooperated with investigators. The incident appears to be a tragic accident said Police on Thursday.
“It simply appears that when they were crossing, they either did not see the vehicles or misjudged the speed,” said Lt. Rick Ubinas.
Tamica leaves to cherish memories her son Ashtin, mother Theresa Lowe Doby, father Bosie (Hambone) Solomon, sisters Shanica, and Jasmine and maternal grandmother Erma Griffin.
The wake will be held on Friday, April 17 at Ray Williams Funeral Home in Tampa. The funeral will take place at the Bible Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace on Saturday, April 18.
